For a sound installation, the walls of the shell were draped with felt. The goal was, on the one hand, to improve the visual impression, but more importantly, to create an acoustically neutral environment and suppress reverberation in the empty spaces. The draping enhances the sound-absorbing properties of the stage felt. Naturally, the material had to be flame-retardant according to DIN 4201 B1.
Here, the Molton serves as a light and sound-absorbing fabric to hide the empty stands while simultaneously improving the acoustic properties of the hall. A classic use of black stage Molton.
