Acoustic curtains are designed to reduce noise and absorb sound in living spaces, workshops, offices, hotels, and even theaters. In our extensive range, you'll find the right acoustic curtain made of stage felt for your needs – whether for use in studios, theaters, event spaces, restaurants, or open-plan offices.

Our acoustic curtains and soundproof curtains are generally made of heavy-duty stage molleton fabric. Protective curtains made of velvet or satin are also available. For even better performance, they are insulated with plastic film or Kalmuk inserts.

We manufacture soundproof curtains with a grammage between 600 g/m² and 3200 g/m², which are flame-retardant according to DIN 4102 B1.

All acoustic curtains, with the exception of the AF 1000, are not washable, as they would otherwise lose their fire and soundproofing properties.

What kind of noise can an acoustic curtain reduce? Keyword: room acoustics?
A soundproof curtain can effectively reduce high and medium frequencies (e.g., speech noise, such as that found in schools, kindergartens, or sports halls). Traffic noise that enters through old or open doors and windows can also be reduced with the help of soundproof curtains.

If modern windows and doors with good sound insulation are already installed, soundproof curtains won't significantly improve the situation. The disturbing noise is likely to be low-frequency. Generally speaking, this noise, like the roar of jackhammers, aircraft turbines, or trucks, can only be slightly reduced by purchasing an acoustic curtain.


What material does Rabenring use to make custom acoustic curtains?
Our soundproof curtains are made from several layers of high-quality felt, Kalmuk, or Akutex, with a layer of plastic film sewn between them. Naturally, we only use high-quality stage felt for our curtains. This is available in 10 different colors. With Akutex, you can choose from five different colors for your curtain.


In which colors are soundproof curtains available at Rabenring?
We offer our molleton fabrics in Stage Molleton and, if required, Stage Velvet CS. This results in numerous single-color or two-color combinations in which you can purchase a soundproof curtain from us. We are happy to customize the fabric size to your needs. Acoustic curtain for the office - room acoustics for concentrated work
Soundproofing and sound insulation play a particularly important role in open-plan offices. Noise from telephones, speech noise, and noise from technical equipment and computers constantly distracts, impairs concentration and performance, and can even trigger headaches. Quick action is essential here. Soundproof curtains or room dividers made of fleece significantly reduce the noise level in the room. An acoustic curtain made of fleece fabric, Kalmuk, or PVC for exterior use absorbs sound, resulting in a significantly reduced reverberation time and improved room acoustics. Is a noise protection curtain fire-proof | B1 certification?
Yes, all our curtains are treated according to DIN 4102 B1 and are therefore flame-retardant and can therefore be used in public facilities such as schools or theaters, as well as at trade fairs and events.


Is an acoustic curtain suitable for soundproofing in a music room?
Musicians often have to practice at home and, as a result, often have problems with annoyed neighbors. Structural measures should be the first choice for soundproofing in enclosed spaces or in the office. If these aren't possible, acoustic curtains are a suitable alternative to reduce sound escaping through windows or doors. Please keep in mind, however, that ceilings and floors also transmit sound. Low frequencies are particularly treacherous and can only be controlled with considerable effort. Materials such as Noiseflex, acoustic fleece, or Akutex acoustic fabrics are particularly suitable for soundproofing walls and ceilings in rooms. Are there also acoustic curtains for outside?
Of course! Our Rabenring C1000 Outdoor acoustic curtains are used especially at open-air concerts and stages at public events to provide soundproofing, particularly for stages. This also improves the acoustics and sound on stage, as background noise and sound waves with longer reverberation times are also absorbed. Acoustic tarpaulins and curtains are made from approximately 3.5 mm thick PVC plastic and cut and welded to size in-house. Upon request, we can add eyelets, hems, or other finishing touches to your outdoor acoustic curtain.


Can an acoustic curtain also be used as a thermal curtain?
Traditionally, acoustic curtains are designed for soundproofing. Especially near entrance doors and entrances, they also need to provide wind and thermal protection. For this purpose, we specifically developed the Rabenring LS5 acoustic and thermal curtain, which is made from a combination of molleton fabric and PVC. Thanks to its heavy material structure, it not only offers excellent soundproofing and absorbing properties, but also serves perfectly as a windbreak in a room.


Is an acoustic curtain washable?
Due to the treatment according to DIN 4102 B1, curtains made of cotton or Molton fabric must not be washed, as this will result in their flame retardancy being lost. Akutex curtains can be hand-washed at a maximum of 30°C.
