Soffits - Applications on stages and in theaters

Soffits are ceiling backdrops suspended parallel to the ramp that serve a variety of purposes in theaters or on stages. Soffits are often used to add depth to the stage, but can also be used for other spatial effects. Soffits also conceal technical equipment such as pulleys, cables, or pillars.
