We were delighted to receive the colorful and extensive commission from Kultour Z to produce the stage curtain and window hangings for "Zwickau's Neue Welt". It was a very welcome challenge - exactly to our taste.
The Art Nouveau hall, built in 1903, urgently needed adequate textile furnishings. Playful and opulent curtain designs naturally had to match the extraordinary concert and festival hall.
The front curtain, made of elegant red stage velvet Trevira CS and a matching arched proscenium, creates a unique eye-catcher in the already magnificent festival hall.
Numerous window hangings in the stalls, central aisle, and left side gallery also needed to be replaced.
The total of 14 curtains, each consisting of a valance and two drapes, adequately darken the hall when needed and lend it a cozy ambiance. We sewed them from dark green stage velvet Trevira CS and adorned them with gold trim. The valance was elaborately designed with arches.
Finally, the renovation of all velvet upholstery on the balustrades was also part of the commission.
To ensure professional hanging and the associated skillful pleating, the Rabenring team personally took care of it on site.
It was a great pleasure for us to help Zwickau's "Neue Welt" shine in new splendor. Concerts, receptions, balls, and many other events can now once again be held in a unique ambiance.
The renovation was funded by the Free State of Saxony. Production time was 3 weeks and 3 days for installation.
