Even if it is more about low frequencies, an acoustic curtain cannot bring too much improvement. Everyday noise such as loud talking, music, or vacuum cleaner noise in the home office during work can, however, be easily minimized with an acoustic curtain.
Acoustic curtain: materials and mounting options
Acoustic curtains usually consist of molton fabric. Between the individual fabric layers, special acoustic membranes are inserted in many articles for an even stronger effect. Such a curtain can be attached in several ways: On the one hand, it can be fastened to the ceiling with a rope, and on the other hand, suitable frames are also available in stores on which the fabric can be draped. In addition, there are various rail systems to which an acoustic curtain can be attached. Which solution is the right one always depends on the structural conditions in the home office. If you value some privacy, the frame is a very good choice. Thus, the curtain also fulfills the function of a room divider, making shielded work possible.
Improve the working atmosphere with an acoustic curtain
Whether someone is on the phone in the same room or listening to music, a sound-absorbing molton curtain can easily improve the working atmosphere in the home office. These fabrics can also be used simultaneously as blackout curtains. They are well suited as window curtains. Especially in old buildings with high ceilings, it is often very noisy, as sound can spread unhindered in the room. An acoustic curtain significantly reduces reverberation there. Can acoustic curtains be washed?
If acoustic curtains are made of molton, they should not be washed. These curtains must not be exposed to moisture, otherwise they will lose their flame-retardant properties. However, there are other sound-absorbing curtains available in stores, for example made of Acutex, which can be safely dry-cleaned. Some fabrics can also be easily hand-washed at 30 degrees. If the curtain is to be washed occasionally, it is important to pay attention to a washable product when buying.
